Bold Hat events, president, earn top awards

SEATTLE – Bold Hat Productions received multiple awards during the annual Summit Awards in November, produced by the Washington Festival and Events Association (WFEA). Kirkland Uncorked was named Top Event of the Year for the Central/Puget Sound region. The Fremont Solstice Art Week received a Gold Award for Best Event Poster in 2021. The poster, featuring commissioned artwork from world-famous tattooist Kyler Martz, promoted the Fremont neighborhood’s art celebration in June 2021, taking place of the annual Fremont Fair and Fremont Solstice Parade – both shuttered since 2019 due to pandemic restrictions. Phil Megenhardt, president and creative director of  Bold Hat Productions, was named Top Event Organizer of the Year in Washington state. Megenhardt has been a leader and advocate for festivals and events during the industry shutdown, providing guidance to other organizers throughout the region as they’ve tried to navigate health and safety guidelines, site planning and reopening strategies. In 2021, Bold Hat Productions has safely and successfully produced more than 14 events ranging from community concerts to 20,000-person festivals. Since 2001, Bold Hat Productions has received more than 40 awards during the annual Summit Awards.
